Vehicle Insurance & Driving License to be valid till 30th June 2020: Government [Read Notification]
Extension of Validity of Documents under Motor Vehicles Act
In view of the current pandemic condition in India, the ministry of Road Transport and Highways has extended validity of documents such as Driving license, Validity of Fitness, Permit (all types) or other document related to Motor Vehicle Act, 1988 and Central Motor Vehcile Rules 1988. The validity is extended till 30th June 2020.
The advisory released by Ministry of Road Transport and Highways stated that validity of documents under the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988 and Central Motor Rules, 1989 it is advised that the validity of fitness, Permit(all types), Driving License, Registration or any other concerned documents whose extension of validity could not or not likely be processed due to lock-down the same may be treated to be valid till 30th June 2020 and Enforcement Authorities are advised to treat such documents valid till 30th June 2020.
The circular also stated that all the states and union territories are requested to implement this advisory in letter and spirit so that the people, the transporters and various other organisations, which are rendering services at this difficult time, may not get harassed and face difficulties amidst nationwide lock-down.
