Welcome to my personal blog! My name is Dhawal Tomer, and I am currently working as an Executive Assistant at Morton Fraser MacRoberts LLP in Glasgow, UK. With a unique combination of legal qualifications and administrative expertise, I aim to bridge the gap between legal operations and business efficiency.
My Legal Journey
I have been a qualified lawyer in India since 2018, having worked as a legal associate for over two years with various prominent law firms. During my time in India, I gained extensive experience in areas like real estate & insolvency law litigation, dispute resolution, and legal advisory services. My journey as a lawyer gave me the opportunity to handle complex cases, engage in critical legal research, and work directly with clients to achieve favorable outcomes.
After moving to the UK, I transitioned into the role of Executive Assistant at Morton Fraser MacRoberts LLP, where I continue to support legal professionals in their daily operations. This role has enhanced my skills in organizational management, allowing me to balance administrative responsibilities with a keen understanding of legal processes.
Diverse Professional Experience
In addition to my current position, I have also worked in the Secured Collection Team (Legal) at Wescot Credit Services in Glasgow for two years. This experience in secured collections and debt recovery broadened my knowledge of the financial and legal services industry in the UK.
My work across three different countries – India, Singapore and the UK – has equipped me with a global perspective on law and business practices. I believe this cross-border experience gives me an edge in navigating all legal systems, and I am passionate about utilizing this knowledge to benefit my clients and colleagues.
Education and Qualifications
- B.Com LLB (Hons.) from Amity Law School, Noida, India
- LLM from National Law University, India
- Master of Research (M.Res) in Law from the University of Glasgow, UK
This diverse educational background has provided me with strong legal foundations, deep analytical skills, and advanced research abilities. My academic journey has always been driven by a passion for understanding the law in a broader socio-economic context.
Legal Writing and Contributions
Alongside my professional career, I am an avid legal writer. I regularly contribute articles to leading legal portals such as LiveLaw and DTLegal, where I cover a wide range of legal topics, from the latest developments in Indian law to emerging trends in UK legal frameworks. Writing allows me to stay updated with the evolving legal landscape while sharing insights with a wider audience.
